Say Her Name
Installation, 2019
Brief: A narrative-shifting and socially engaged art installation.
Concept: This piece invites you to say Sandra Bland’s name. Each time her name is said out loud, it is printed -- keeping her story at the front of our collective consciousness. This project is a form of restorative justice. It was created in collaboration with Nailah Davis and Simone Salvo.
Role: UX/UI, physical computing, installation and programming.
Tools: Arduino Genuino Uno, p5.js, Neopixels, ultrasonic sensor, thermal printer, acrylic sheet, fish wire, repurposed shadow box
